Brithday Cake Gameboy Cart

This is my sixth release on Itch.io, and this time,  just a small project.

WHAT IS IT?

Quick cart, which will help you celebrate someone's birthday, the game plays the happy birthday tune, and you can blow out / re-light the candle with the A and B buttons.

WHY DID I MAKE THIS?

I wanted to investigate if I could turn an LED on and off using a cheap Game Boy repo cart. I lost patience after a few days, but the idea grew into this... not sure how my mind works!

WHAT I LEARNT.

I learnt I cannot control an LED that is wired to a repo cart, but I did understand and forward think about coloring pixels, and while there are not many colours in this game, I made my life easier by keeping coloured pixels in different tiles so as to not cause headaches when it came to  colouring. But other than that, this is a very simple game that took a few hours to create, and once again, I had fun making it.

FUTURE FOR THE PROJECT.

I'm not sure if I want to add anything else to this project, but I may come back and add something. I still haven't given up on the LED control, and that is something I think would work well for this cart, if you could turn off a physical LED when the candle goes out.
